Torque seal (torque seal / tamper seal lacquer) is used to mark tightened screws, nuts, and bolts during aircraft maintenance.
A small amount of torque seal is applied across the fastener head and the surrounding material. If the fastener loosens, the seal mark breaks — a simple visual inspection method that is standard in the aviation industry.
Use: Tighten the fastener to the specified torque. Apply a thin stripe of torque seal from the fastener onto the surrounding surface. Inspect regularly.
Colors: Multiple colors available to differentiate between inspection intervals. Each color represents a service date.
Drying time: Approx. 30 minutes. Full adhesion after 2 hours.
Compatible with: Steel, aluminum, composites, and painted surfaces.
